The photographic works of the artist Oliver Ressler for the MQ Art Box focus on Vienna’s best-known occupation, which is aimed at blocking the construction of the so-called Stadtstraße highway in the city’s Donaustadt district. What would happen if this area near the Hausfeldstraße U2 underground station, which has been referred to as a “desert”, could be redesigned on a long-term basis according to the ideas of the climate activists?

This art project attempts to provide creative space for a variety of ideas for this site – apart from an urban highway.

The project is supported by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF: AR 526) as part of “Barricading the Ice Sheets”.
