The exhibition "Istanbul: Spaces of Freedom" is comprised of selections from photographer Manca Juvan's recent work, which seeks to capture a moment in the life of the metropolis and its changing relationship to the elusive ideal of urban freedom. The panel "Freedom and Urbanity: Istanbul through Photographs" features academics Ahmet Ersoy (Istanbul) and Ziya Umut Türem (Vienna) alongside photographer Juvan, who will discuss urban freedom, transformation and repression in contemporary Istanbul, while considering the role of photography in capturing these experiences.
