Exhibition
Centre de la photographie Genève X FOTO ARSENAL WIEN Arsenalstraße, 1030 Wien
3.10.—2.11.2025
Artists: Kurki Hilla
Curator: Danaé Panchaud
FOTO ARSENAL WIEN is expanding its current exhibition “Science/ Fiction – A Non-History of Plants” with this open-air exhibition. The works address our relationship with the plant world and the way in which plants, due to their aesthetic qualities, become objects of affection or symbols of ecological upheaval. This exhibition shows works by Yann Mingard (*1973, Switzerland) and Hilla Kurki (*1985, Finland) in which botanical and artistic studies are combined: Hilla Kurki examines a mother-daughter relationship in an intimate narrative; Yann Mingard deals with invasive plant species.
This is a satellite exhibition that will be on view from October 3 to November 2 as part of FOTO WIEN 2025 on the area of the Arsenal. The exhibition was produced by the Centre de la photographie Genève and first presented in Geneva in July 2025. It is supported by Pro Helvetia, the Swiss Arts Council.
