Exhibition
Studio Manfredi Karolinengasse 23, 1040 Wien
15.10.—9.11.2025
Artists: Dengler Verena, Manfredi Anja
Verena Dengler’s work is characterized by her multidisciplinary approach that connects digital media, performance, photography, text, drawing, painting, and sculpture. Experiences from the areas of theater and literature as well as activistic, subcultural, and performative contexts have informed her practice. By engaging with related fields of visual art, she has expanded her painterly approach that was originally trained through her study of object art and traditional printmaking. Anja Manfredi explores the complex relationship between the body and photography in her work. In her early projects, the bodies performed motoric, animated release, while more recent works deal with systems, categories, and spaces that inscribe themselves into the body and their gestures. The body can be understood as a photographic long exposure in which new photographs of experiences and impressions are inscribed. For the exhibition in conjunction with FOTO WIEN 2025, Verena Dengler and Anja Manfredi will present their collaborative collages for the first time, along with their own individual work.
