Morgen (Einheit)
Exhibition
Galerie Kras Stumpergasse 16, 1060 Wien
27.10.—2.11.2025
Artists: Posny Jennifer, Pressler Jana
Tomorrow (Unity) examines the structural parallels between the logic of financial speculation and visual culture. In both realms, the focus shifts from the material present to abstract futures. The trade in so-called “futures” transforms tangible goods into immaterial signs that circulate on global markets. Likewise, images detach from their references, becoming speculative objects whose value lies in their media circulation and perception.
Yet speculation is not merely an economic or visual strategy—it is a technique of power. Those who shape the future in numbers or images steer social currents, influence decisions, and define what appears possible or probable.
The exhibition juxtaposes two artistic positions. In her work, Jana Pressler interrogates technologies of vision as socially coded cultural techniques, exposing seemingly neutral surfaces as projection planes for societal fantasies. Jennifer Posny, in her reproductive works, engages with the question of how such visual cultures enact and perpetuate power dynamics within the capitalist patriarchy.
