Turning to light is a process that links nature and energy. Plants orient themselves to the light and overcome obstacles through their constant movement. But what paths does light itself follow? The search for renewable resources gives us new insight: 2025 is the international year of quantum science. As in the double-slit experiment, light moves in unexpected ways, remaining invisible in its diversity. Researchers at the ETH Zürich developed a process that produces fluid fuel from sunlight and air. Artistically recreated in the darkroom, this method creates shadows of “fluid light.”

These processes are reflected in the exhibition: Gerburg Neunteufl Pipina Schickaneder’s analog photograms enter into a dialog with the neophytic works by Hubert Hasler. Non-European fauna found in urban space warrants attention. Science encounters art, and technology is condensed in images that are reminiscent of Deconstructivism and Flemish still life paintings.
