Captivated by a legendary ethnological expedition to the land of the Dogon people in 1931, Toni Kleinlercher was inspired to reenact the journey as a young artist. This resulted in literary texts and photographs. Taking up the project again after many years, he found that his Africa slides had been “transformed by mold.”
