Transformation
Exhibition
Galerie rauminhalt_harald bichler Schleifmühlgasse 13, 1040 Wien
7.10.—1.11.2025
Artists: Gramm Johannes, Oláh Stefan
Transformation is change—and a dynamic process. How we see the world depends on where we stand. Photography allows us to be part of transformation by revealing change and inviting reflection. Photographers connect the past with possible futures while capturing the present.
The photographic works of Stefan Oláh and Johannes Gramm offer different approaches to transformation. Oláh documents the architectural transformation of the Heidi Horten Collection. Although most of his photographs are almost entirely devoid of people, they are, at their core, deeply concerned with humanity. Gramm offers us the possibility to grasp the fragments of transformative processes. Without things, there is no future. In viewing these objects, memories emerge. From these memories—and from the placement of those objects—a picture forms that suggests the possibility of the future, or of many futures.
The exhibition is about the balance of processes. Without process, there is no future. Without tools, there is no process.
